Fabric Print Size Calculator
Enter your repeat in pixels and its DPI to get the printed size, then see how many repeats fit across a fabric width and down a length.
How to use the Fabric Print Size Calculator
- Enter the repeat’s width and height in pixels.
- Enter the resolution (DPI) you will print at.
- Optionally enter the fabric width and length.
- Read the printed size and how the repeat lays out on the fabric.
From pixels to fabric
Print size depends only on pixels and DPI: width (cm) = pixels ÷ DPI × 2.54. The calculator then lays that repeat across your fabric so you can see full repeats and the partial repeat left at the selvedge.
Example
A 3,600 × 3,600 px tile at 300 DPI prints at 30.48 × 30.48 cm. On a 145 cm fabric that gives four full repeats and a 23.1 cm partial repeat at the edge — fine for yardage, but for a cushion panel you might scale the repeat so that exactly four or five fit.
Frequently asked questions
Should I worry about the partial repeat?
For continuous yardage, no — it is normal. For engineered panels, scarves or cut-and-sew pieces, use the Fabric Width Calculator to find a repeat size that fits exactly.
